PARMA Music Festival Artist Spotlight: Robert DeGaetano
Today we're shining the spotlight on a seasoned pianist, composer, and PARMA Artist. A graduate of Juilliard and a native of New York City, Robert DeGaetano is widely known as a top-tier virtuoso and interpreter of the great keyboard works.
With a touring schedule that takes him around the world, DeGaetano is also a frequent guest soloist with orchestras across the United States, including those of Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, San Diego and the Boston Pops.
DeGaetano is also a celebrated composer and his acclaimed works have appeared on nine different albums on the Crystonyx and Navona labels. Robert has appeared on the Navona compilation album FINE MUSIC VOL. 5 and a 2013 Navona release featuring his "Piano Concerto No. 1" alongside Chopin's first Piano Concerto, both performed with the Moravian Philharmonic. This release also includes the film "Journey of Passion", which documents the writing and recording process of Robert's concerto, which has been dedicated to the memory of his brother Noël.
Robert's work "Three Tweets for Piano & Pianist" will be performed at the Lord of the Strings concert on Thursday at 10 AM. We hope to see you there.
